My name is Lindsey.  I’m 28, living in beautiful Ohio with my husband “B” and my beloved cat Acey.

I am a homemaker, yeah, that’s right!  I said it!  A modern-day house wife!

I didn’t really follow the typical mold of:  go to college, get a degree, find a job, get married, have kids.  I am a Culinary Arts school drop out, mainly because I simply don’t like someone telling me what to do!   I’ve also been making cakes since I was tall enough to use the KitchenAid mixer.  I’ve been blessed to have amazing bakers in my lineage.  One of my fondest memories of my maternal grandmother is her teaching me how to make her breads.  I loved the smell of wet yeast and the way the whole house would be perfumed with the sweet smell of “coffee cake”.  I am the only one in our family who knows this precious recipe!

Two and a half years ago, after watching “Super Size Me” I decided to make the switch to organic foods.  I was a major coupon-er and it was a little hard to swallow the price of organic. But I knew it was worth it in the long run!  I could  leave a conventional grocery store, with a cart stuffed full of crappy/processed groceries for only $40!  Now, I can get, maybe, a small basket full of organic groceries for that $40.  I believe in being a good steward of this Earth, and being an organic/eco-friendly purchaser makes a major impact.

I used to suffer with major anxiety in my late teens and I started taking prescribed anti-depressants (which confused me because I wasn’t depressed) because I was so desperate to feel normal.  After being on these drugs for about 2 years I decided I could take myself off.  The feeling I got from withdrawing was awful and almost indescribable.  I felt like I was coming off of hard narcotics.  I knew this was something I wanted to stay away from.  After I got married, when we were buying our first house, I began relapsing, and the anxiety was coming back. I decided to take my care into my own hands.  I researched natural ways of healing and feeling well and I’ve never looked back!  It’s been a challenging, exciting and rewarding life style.

I have seen this lifestyle continue to work in all areas of my life. As this journey continues, I continue to learn more and more about my body, and keeping it healthy. In turn, I’m learning more about the environment, and what role I can play in keeping it healthy.

I have been blessed with a great community of friends, many of whom continue to ask my opinion of matters of natural health. I have found myself sharing my knowledge so frequently, to so many people, that I decided to start this blog, to simply broaden the conversation.

Thank you for stopping by, and taking part in this journey. We, as a people, have a responsibility to keep ourselves and our environment healthy. I hope I can help shed a little light on some of the better paths to take.

With Love,
